Kilimanjaro-Western Breach Route
ITINERARY: 8 days/ 8nights:
Departures daily.
DAY 1: Board Riverside shuttle bus from Nairobi airport
or city centre at 0800 hrs and proceed to Arusha arriving at 1300hrs.
Depart for Moshi at 1400hrs arriving at 1530hrs. Dinner and overnight
at a hotel in Moshi or (Pick up from Kilimanajaro airport and transfer
to hotel in Moshi)
DAY 2: Breakfast, drive from your hotel in Moshi/Arusha
(45minutes). After
registration process, we start climbing along a clear trail through
plantantion and natural forest, thereafter a narrow forest path follows
to
the Machame Camp (9,900ft), B,L,D.
DAY 3: Breakfast, ascend through the forest, steep
ridge passing through
heatherand open moorlands, and crossing a largegorge to Shira Camp
(12,600ft), B,L,D.
DAY 4: After breakfast, we will asend to Lava Tower,
the alpine zone of
the mountain, with the only plant life being haridest of glasses and
lichens, Lava Tower Camp, 15,090ft, B,L,D.
DAY 5: Breakfast, then a 2 hours hiking distance will
take us to Arrow
Glacier. In the afternoon we will do some hiking to a higher elevation
to
adjust ourselves to the acclimatization. Arrow Glacier Camp, 16,090ft,
B,L,D
DAY 6: We wake up early in the mid night for our last
ascending to the
summit, 19,340ft, the descend to Mweka Camp, 10,010ft, B,L,D.
DAY 7: Further descend to Mweka gate, the waiting vehicle
will take you to
the hotel in Moshi/Arusha, B,L.
DAY 8: Transfer to the airport for your return flight
or board shuttle bus Moshi Nairobi or proceed with the
safari with us!
